When Times Get Tough... I Go Adobo

When guests arrive without prior notice try whipping up this all-time pinoy favorite.

Adobo is probably one of the easiest pinoy meals to prepare. All you need is some meat, soy sauce, cane vinegar, water, bay leaf ,black pepper and lots of garlic. Put everything together in a pot and let it boil until meat is tender. Some prefer the slow-cook method but when in a hurry, go ahead and let it boil over high temperature. Just check the water level to make sure it doesn't burn.

Feeling adventurous?Try adding a couple of star anise or a dash of rosemary. I sometimes saute the garlic first in a little olive oil before adding the other ingredients.

This dish is usually served with steamed rice or you can add some greens like shredded cabbage
and carrots over asian noodles and you have pancit guisado, another pinoy comfort food.

Pinoys usually use pork in this dish but you can also try this with chicken and fish.

Kainan na!
